William Morris (1834 - 1896) was one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian England and is widely regarded as the figurehead os the Arts and Crafts movement of that time.  His designs are some of the most iconic and recognisable in the world today.

One of William Morris's most popular designs for textiles is the Strawberry Theif c1883.  Inspired by the thrushes that William Morris found stealing fruit in the kitchen garden of his countryside home, Kelmscott Manor in Oxfordshire.
